Thule Test Center
When you visit the Thule Test Center™, you'll probably think we hate what we
make. After all, you'll see a very happy engineer pushing the start button on a rig that
simulates a bike trailer being driven twice around the world, twice as heavy as it is loaded.
Or a cheerfully smiling technician testing a roof-mounted bike rack with unprecedented heat, cold, UV radiation, humidity, and, to top it all off, some very harmful
chemicals. Or an engineer who can't think of anything better than to load a roof box on a skid and then try to break it - and so on, more than 100 crash tests a year!
Safety first
Everything you could see with your own eyes is done for the sake of Thule's main goal - to keep you and the people around you safe. Durability and product quality are also important, but we maintain safety at the highest level through comprehensive and rigorous lab testing. In particular, we have developed a special Thule Test Program™, which includes 25 "Thule Standards" that far exceed the current ISO standard.
Extreme Testing
Before a product can bear the Thule logo, it is tested to the extreme at the Thule Test Center™. This means testing for every condition - desert heat, arctic cold, waterproofness, impact testing, wind tunnel tensile, impact and crash testing.
